PREP SOCCER: Lake City girls get back on track

| September 17, 2024 1:10 AM

SPOKANE VALLEY — Freshman Ava Roberts and sophomore Riley Brazle each had a goal and an assist as the Lake City Timberwolves blanked the Central Valley Bears 4-0 on Monday in nonleague play on the artificial turf at CV.

Savvy Spencer posted the shutout in goal for Lake City (6-2-1), which had dropped two straight, at Lewiston and at Sandpoint.

“To be honest, we were just better than we were last week,” Lake City coach Matt Ruchti said. “Last week was odd; the dumb goals that we gave up. We’re a good team, but we’re a young team. They’ve got to go through some growing pains, and battle through adversity.”

Central Valley is 0-3.

Lake City plays Lewis and Clark on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at ONE Spokane Stadium.
