Darrick 'Rick' Holmquist, 65
Darrick “Rick” Holmquist, 65, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away Sept. 13, 2024. Born on Feb. 16, 1959, Rick spent his life immersed in the beauty of Idaho’s landscapes, which fueled his passions for hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Rick dedicated many years to working at the Galena mine, a career that spanned several decades until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment to his role were evident in all who knew him.
Beyond his professional life, Rick was a family man through and through. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Frazier) Holmquist, of Silverton, Idaho; daughter Felicia Cassidy and her husband, Dave, of Kingston, Idaho, along with their children, Katie and Alex; son Darrick Holmquist and his wife, Lauren (Stewart), of Pinehurst, Idaho, and their children, Rikki and Leo. He also leaves behind a sister, Kathy Braid, and her husband, Bill, of Spokane, Wash.; brothers Rob Holmquist and his wife, Arolene, of Spokane, Wash., and his twin, Darrell Holmquist, and his wife, Linda, of Nye, Mont. His extended family includes multiple nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joyce Holmquist, of Spokane, Wash.
A small family gathering will be planned for the spring of 2025, where loved ones will gather to honor Rick’s memory and celebrate his life. Rick’s love for the outdoors and his craft will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
