STRANGE STORIES: Remember that real issues exist
In the recent presidential debate, Trump insisted people on TV reported that criminal, illegal immigrants are capturing and eating peoples dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio.
Recently in a local restaurant, I overheard a conversation between two strangers. One asked the other if he knew two million children disappear world-wide annually. Remarkably, none of the bodies are found because liberal powers are grinding up the bodies and selling the meat to fast food chains.
Reliable resources recently reported that Trump has arranged for suspected criminal immigrants to be captured and butchered to provide steaks for his Mar-a-Lago Club. Diners have been raving that the chef’s secret MAGA Special is a gourmet favorite. Trump was overheard telling loyal members that their dining choice is very patriotic by replacing expensive U.S. deportation expenses with support for his essential capitalistic contribution to a strong national economy.
Who makes up these ridiculous stories, and why are people so eager to believe delusional fantasies aimed at creating fear and division? Real issues exist, but exaggerations and lies are intended to deceive and steal political control. We must do better. Be skeptical of all bazaar claims, don’t spread the lies, and focus on discovering and emphasizing truths.
Confession: I made up the third story to show how easy it can be to influence opinions with lies. Sorry.
