BIBLE: Most popular book in the world

Speaking of God, a popular song says, “I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think your like.” Most of those stories are based on pure speculation. So, how do we know what God is truly like? By reading the source of where the idea of God comes from. A recent Barna study reveals the most popular book of all time is the Bible; five to seven billion copies sold. In 2023, the most popular book in the world was the Bible. Why? The Bible is unique, 66 books, written by 40 authors over 1,500 years and it remains succinct in its message about one entity: God. What other book compares?

And what does this book say about God. The entirety of the book explains his purpose and his expectations. Skeptics should be more humble, they are not omniscient. The New Testament book of Romans Ch. 1: 20, says, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” That sounds ominous and it should; it means God is holding people accountable to see him and heed his message. The consequences are dire for not heeding this message; it is called judgment. I have purposefully initiated this conversation beginning without God’s grace, (Unmerited favor) for we must first know why grace is important. Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Eccl. 3: 11 says, “God has set eternity in the human heart.” We instinctively know this life is not all there is. Due to limited space, I hope to write again revealing the heart of God for mankind, his grace.
