Clyde H. Madry, 84

Clyde H. Madry, Jr., 84, of Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Aug. 27, 2024, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Clyde was born June 15, 1940, in Halifax County, N.C., a son of the late Clyde Madry, Sr. and Mary (Walker) Madry. 

He married Beth Lahd on Feb. 29, 1980, at the top of Silverhorn ski area in Kellogg, Idaho. Clyde was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served our country for over 14 years. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star during his service in Vietnam. Clyde was also a captain and a member of the Corps of Engineers for numerous years. After rejoining civilian life, he worked as a civil engineer at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, then at Bunker Hill and later in Cd’A, Utah and Wisconsin.

Clyde was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, watching wildlife, skiing and gardening. He was also a skilled woodworker and owned a shop called Wallace Woodworks in the 1990s.

Survivors include his loving wife, Beth Madry of Kellogg, Idaho; his son, Kevin Madry of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two daughters, Kimberly Madry Forbis of Wake Forest, N.C. and Amanda Arndt of Auburn, Wash.; and seven grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Colton and Tatum Forbis, Chandler and Haley Madry and Chloe Arndt. 

A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Shoshone Funeral Services, 106 S. Main St., Kellogg, Idaho.
