Fire damages apartment unit

A third-floor unit at Fairwood Apartments, 1905 W. Appleway Ave., was damaged during a fire Sunday.
A Coeur d'Alene deputy fire marshal said the initial investigation indicated the fire started accidentally in a room due to an electrical issue.
The two people who lived there fled safely. The fire was contained to the room of origin.
It took firefighters about three hours to put the blaze out, clean up and clear the scene.
