Save NIC Now endorses candidates

| September 11, 2024 1:00 AM

Save NIC Now, a political action committee formerly known as Friends of NIC, endorsed North Idaho College trustee candidates Rick Durbin, Eve Knudtsen and Mary Havercroft in a press release Tuesday.

"They’re not here to play games. They’re here to clean up the board and get NIC back on track. If you care about NIC and the future of this community, these are the folks you need to vote for,” said Jim Coleman, chairman of Save NIC Now.

Durbin is in Zone 3, Eve Knudtsen Zone 4 and Mary Havercroft Zone 5.

"They are ready to restore order, protect NIC’s accreditation, and make sure the college continues to benefit North Idaho’s students, businesses, and families," the release said.

Coleman said the election is about saving NIC.

"Durbin, Knudtsen and Havercroft are the leaders who will bring back common sense, protect our college and ensure NIC serves this community for years to come," he said.

Absentee ballots will begin mailing Sept. 20, and early voting starts in October. To request an absentee ballot, visit the Idaho Secretary of State’s website, contact your local election office or go to bit.ly/4bKuE95.
