PREP GOLF: Focke finishes second at Rocky Mountain tourney

EAGLE — Coeur d’Alene freshman Ben Focke shot a 4-under 68 to finish tied for medalist in the Mike McCrady Invitational at BanBury Golf Course on Tuesday.

The tournament, scheduled for Jug Mountain Ranch in McCall, was moved to Eagle due to smoke.

Focke lost in a scorecard playoff on Hole 14 to Boise senior Reid Piron.

Boise won the boys team title with a 294, with Mountain View of Meridian second with a 301 and Coeur d’Alene third with a 305.

Coeur d’Alene finished tied for second with Bishop Kelly of Boise with a 322.

Local individual scoring was not available.

Rocky Mountain of Meridian won the girls team title with a 317.

Coeur d’Alene is scheduled to compete in the Lewiston Invitational on Thursday at Bryden Canyon Golf Course.
