| September 11, 2024 1:00 AM

North Idaho College will host "Community Conversations: The Escalating Threat of Fentanyl in North Idaho Part II" from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room in the Edminster Student Union Building.

"This critical event, presented jointly by the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber, Kootenai Health and North Idaho College, aims to address the growing concerns surrounding fentanyl and its impact on the region's health care system," a press release said.

The forum will bring together a panel of health care providers, addiction specialists and public health officials to look at the challenges presented by fentanyl. Topics will include the increasing strain on emergency departments, the surge in overdose cases and the long-term health consequences for those affected.

The event is free and the public is welcome.
