Collective hosts mayor, presidential debate

The Innovation Collective is hosting a fireside chat with Mayor Woody McEvers tonight, followed by a livestream of the presidential debate.  

The public is welcome. 

McEvers will sit down for an interview as he discusses his background, being a restaurant owner and goals for the mayor’s office. He was sworn in Sept. 3 to fill the remaining 16 months of Jim Hammond’s term, who resigned to move to Colorado to be near family. 

Later, the debate between presidential candidates former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will be livestreamed. 

The event, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is scheduled at The Den, 418 E. Lakeside Ave. It is free, but donations will be accepted. 

“This event is all about fostering connection and asking great questions of a local leader who's been ‘in the arena’ for over 40 years,” a press release said.
