OPEN PRIMARIES: Vote yes on Prop 1

| September 8, 2024 1:00 AM

Why? Because it opens participation in the primary and gives us all more real choices. And it reduces the machine political influence of the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC).

Have you noticed that the KCRCC promotes a list of recommended candidates for the state legislature; they generally get chosen in the primary due to the low turnout as well as the tendency of many Republicans to not think for themselves? Consequently, when the KCRCC posts their list of recommended candidates the election for the legislature for Kootenai County is essentially over.

The open primary, as well as the ranked choice, would increase the opportunity for candidates not chosen by the KCRCC. That is why the KCRCC is so vehemently opposed to Prop 1.

Vote “YES” for Prop 1.
