SA Candlelight vigil held for overdose victims

| September 7, 2024 1:00 AM

A candlelight vigil was held Aug. 31 on Lake Coeur d'Alene as part of International Overdose Awareness Day to remember those who have died and acknowledge the loss of family and friends left behind. The vigil was a time for attendees to grieve together as a community and collectively work on solutions to this public health crisis.

This year's awareness day theme was "Together We Can."

The vigil was put on through partnerships with Free2Succeed: the Idaho Department of Correction's mentorship initiative, Kootenai Recovery Community Center and Brick House Recovery of Couer d’Alene, Mountain Top Homes and Our Home.
