NIC SOCCER: Cardinal women play to draw with Northwest; men's match postponed
• WOMEN
POWELL, Wyo. — Sophomore midfielder Cora Anderson scored in the 87th minute for North Idaho College, which played to a 3-3 draw against Northwest on Tuesday.
Northwest, which led 2-0 at halftime, fell behind 3-2 on Anderson’s goal, but scored the tying goal in the final minute.
“I don’t think we traveled well and didn’t get out to a good start,” NIC coach Kellsi Parson said. “Northwest did its job and took over early.”
There was a 45-minute delay due to lightning in the area after NIC tied the match a 2-2 on goals from McKenzie White and Anderson.
“We were starting to take over the momentum when the delay happened,” Parson said. “If that doesn’t happen, we win. But everything happens for a reason.”
NIC (1-1-1) faces Pacific Northwest Christian on Saturday at Memorial Field in Sandpoint in the Scenic West Athletic Conference opener for both schools.
Northwest is 2-1-1.
