PROP 1: Vote yes for better candidates

I was beyond disappointed when I opened my ballot to see Marc Eberlein was the only “choice” for Board of County Commissioners, District 1. This letter is to inform newcomers and remind locals who may have forgotten, this KCRCC darling previously served one term, 2014-2018 as a Commissioner. He was soundly voted out after that term. Recalling, one of his more “brilliant” accomplishments was promoting and being successful in making building permits “optional.” That lasted only one year. When he ran for State Senate in 2020, voters memories were still fresh and he was again wisely defeated. Unfortunately, his name is the only one on the ballot this time around. I left that section on my ballot blank. You can do the same. Had Proposition 1 been in place, there would have been a choice for me as well as other voters with research skills and good memories. Every voter should have the right to select who will appear on their general election ballot. The little red card that circulates widely has been wrong so many times before. The sorry messes at NIC and the Library Boards come to mind. Please Vote Yes on Proposition 1.
