ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Angiletta, McKenzie, Lyons

| October 30, 2024 1:00 AM

I don’t believe the letters of endorsement in the paper truly represent the citizens of Coeur d’Alene, Dalton Gardens, Hayden, Hayden Lake, Rathdrum, Post Falls, and Athol. My understanding is that only those that subscribe to the paper have their endorsement letters published. Many of my conservative friends don’t subscribe to The Press. They use to but stopped as they realized the views of the editorial staff are slanted to the Left and the local news articles promote progressive thought. Also, the former elected officials often quoted and published — although they ran on the Republican ticket years ago, are really philosophical Democrats. The Press gets to decide who they publish, so why can’t the Republican Party decide who votes in their nomination process aka the primary election?

Unfortunately, money drives everything. It drives, as in subscribers, who is published. Big money can afford large ads, television commercials, mailers, and texting software. Which side has the most money? Which side’s signs are accompanied by posters for ranked choice voting and the Democrat Marano?

It seems the voice of true conservatives is missing. Those that support traditional family values, the protection of human life, and rejection of woke ideology in our college is muffled. I may be one of the few conservatives that still subscribe to this paper, but I know I represent many in our community.

I’ve been very impressed with Michael Angiletta. He has been successful in business, marketing, and pledges to bring civility to the NIC board of trustees. I will be voting for those that want to make NIC Great Again: Angiletta, McKenzie, and Lyons.
