Kory Kreider earns national award
Korey Kreider, co-owner of the Medicine Man Prairie Pharmacy stores in Kootenai County, has received this year’s NARD Ownership Award from the National Community Pharmacists Association Foundation as part of NCPA’s Annual Convention Oct. 26-29 in Columbus, Ohio.
The award recognizes an independent community pharmacist who embraces entrepreneurial spirit through promotion and demonstrated excellence in the field of community pharmacy ownership, a press release said.
“I’m going to turn healthcare on its side. I’m going to reinvent pharmacy for Idaho” he said. “I’m going to keep doing it," he previously told The Press. "There's going to be people who don’t like it, fine. But I'm going to change the game for good and for patients.”
Kreider envisions further evolving clinical services with additional offerings like expanded lab testing and overall health management programs for chronic conditions like diabetes or cardiovascular diseases.
Kreider is exploring testing partnerships with diagnostic labs and investing in staff training programs focused on advanced clinical service delivery methodologies to meet future demands effectively, the release said.
Medicine Man has added clinics to address addictions, telehealth and urgent care, all pharmacist-led. They are starting a hormone clinic and plan to open another pharmacy at Highway 41 and Prairie Avenue, this one with numerous clinic offices.
“Medicine Man Prairie acclimates to meet the needs of the Idaho patient with prescription medications, in addition to compounding for the community’s specialty needs in hospice, veterinary medicine, and the increasing supply and demand challenges for diabetic and heart health conditions,” one person wrote.
