Notice of Public Hearing City of Rathdrum The City of Rathdrum will hold a public hearing 6:00PM on Wednesday; November 13, 2024 at Rathdrum City Hall. Rathdrum city hall is located at 8047 W Main Street Rathdrum, ID. The City is submitting a proposal to the Idaho Department of Commerce for an Idaho Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for Downtown Revitalization in the amount of approximately $500,000. With the grant funding, the City of Rathdrum is proposing to 1) build a new parking lot to serve the downtown area, 2) demolish and replace the existing sidewalks along both sides of Main St between Mill St and McCartney St and along the southeast side of Main Steet between Coeur d’Alene St. and Mill St., 3) demolish and rebuild the ADA/pedestrian ramps on the 4 corners of the intersections of Mill St/Main St. and McCartney St./Main St. and the 2 ramps along either side of Main St. between Mill St. and McCartney St., and replace the lighting infrastructure in all areas where the sidewalks are to be replaced. The City of Rathdrum is further proposing to provide a match to fund the removal of the trees along Main St., replace the trees with other greenery and shade options, and to add historical pedestals throughout the downtown area with the idea to create a downtown historical walking tour. The hearing will include a discussion of the need of the project; the application process; and the project’s scope of work, location, funding/budget, schedule, and expected benefits.
