NIC technical education campus hosts Trick or Treat Open House
RATHDRUM — North Idaho College offered a safe, indoor option for families to get into the Halloween spirit Friday.
NIC’s Parker Technical Education campus in Rathdrum opened its doors to families for its third annual Trick or Treat Open House, which featured candy, costume contests and dance-offs for the kids, plus opportunities to learn about technical education programs for the adults.
“It’s cool to get involved with the community, get to know everyone and especially be here for the kids,” said Cruz Sanchez, who was tabling for the Spokane Valley-based recruiting company AeroTek.
Many booths had science-based activities for the kids and a full-size catapult was set up outside for pumpkin-launching demonstrations.
“This is so good for community engagement and an opportunity to celebrate Halloween safely,” said Megan Snodgrass, who brought along her 6-month-old daughter, Winona.
“It’s a nice, safe place,” said Cindy Kimberling, who attended Friday’s event with her daughter and granddaughter.
