Dennis George Fode, 78
Dennis George Fode, age 78, passed away peacefully Oct. 17, 2024, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, surrounded by love and elk bugling.
Dennis was born in Jamestown, N.D., on June 29, 1946, to Pauline and Henry Fode. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964. He joined the Army National Guard in 1966 and served our country until 1972. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 1969. On June 26, 1970, he married the love of his life, Colleen Clinkingbeard. Dennis grew up loving the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing with friends and family.
Dennis and Colleen raised their family in Grand Forks, N.D., where he owned King News, selling wholesale books and magazines. They had two children, a son (Jason) and a daughter (Jessica). After he sold King News, he worked for the Grand Forks School District. After the flood of 1997, they moved to Billings, Mont., where he worked for TSA until retiring in 2009. He continued his love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing in Montana. After retirement, they moved to Hayden, Idaho, to be closer to their daughter. They loved traveling to Alaska to spend time with Jason’s family and to enjoy hunting and fishing. They enjoyed spending time with fellow veterans and friends at the Hayden Lake Eagles.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Colleen; his son, Jason (Denise); his daughter, Jessica (James); and his grandchildren, Anthony and Eli.
In remembrance of Dennis Fode’s life, the family requests that charitable donations be made to the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown, N.D. (www.annecarlsen.org).
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at Hayden Lake Eagles, 1520 W. Wyoming Ave., Hayden, Idaho.
