1. Wallace sets fees for business registration law

The Wallace City Council approved a resolution setting the fees for the city’s recently adopted Business Registration Ordinance during a special meeting Tuesday.

The council adopted the ordinance in September, but the fee structure for the new registration was not included in the language. Instead, the council opted to set those fees through a resolution.

Last week, the council discussed a proposed fee structure before taking public comment.

The approved fee structure is less than what had been proposed, but it is higher than what some of the council members wanted to see.

2. Silver Valley Seniors ask for donations

Silver Valley Seniors, Inc., is asking for donations to the Silver Valley Meals on Wheels program due to fundraising concerns.

The Silver Valley program is partly funded by the federal government and provides five meals a week to participants. It was scaled back from seven meals a week due to a lack of resources.

A donation of $8 covers a meal for a program participant.

Checks can be given to Meals on Wheels delivery drivers. Cash or checks can be sent to the Osburn Senior Center, P.O. Box 887, Osburn, ID 83849.

3. Post Falls man charged with child sexual exploitation

A Post Falls man is in jail after police said they caught him with hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse.

Bryce A. Berg, 31, faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child by possession of sexually exploitative material, as well as a single count of attempted video voyeurism by use of a device.

Local authorities began investigating Berg in June, after receiving reports that Dropbox and Google accounts belonging to Berg contained child sexual abuse material. Police obtained warrants to search the contents of the accounts.

Berg’s Dropbox account contained approximately 750 files depicting suspected child sexual abuse, according to court records, while his Google account contained about 20 such files. Court records indicate the files included videos of prepubescent children being sexually abused by adults.
