ENDORSEMENT: Vote for Havercroft

| October 25, 2024 1:00 AM

The voters in Kootenai County are facing problems from an ambitious foe. Additional competence and integrity are needed on the NIC board of trustees.

A representative of this foe is Michael Angiletta. Based on assessor records, Mr. Angiletta built his Rathdrum home about a year ago. Yet, he believes, as does the KCRCC supporting him, he has earned the right to represent you as a fiduciary on one of our taxing district boards (NIC). Many believe his short residency and minimal investment in our community has not earned him the privilege to be an NIC trustee.

Mary Havercroft, of Rathdrum, has earned the trust to represent our interest as an NIC trustee. Both financially and personally, Ms. Havercroft has invested in our community for over 40 years, as a volunteer and a Lakeland School District teacher and principal.

Ms. Havercroft has demonstrated the characteristics needed to provide us sound governance: trustworthiness, respect for others, responsibility, fairness, caring and proven citizenship.

These traits of good character exhibited by Ms. Havercroft will dramatically improve the ethics of the NIC board.

Ms. Havercroft will not abandon personal accountability; she will provide us integrity and competence as a trustee.

Mr. Angiletta has repeatedly refused to discuss the length of his residency in Kootenai County.

He silences stakeholders by blocking them on social media. This action tells us he’s not interested in listening. This arrogance gives good reason to reject his bid to become a taxing authority trustee.

Vote for Mary Havercroft for sound character and good judgment as an NIC trustee.
