Fire in Bastien Loop ruled as arson, $5,000 award offered

COEUR d'ALENE — A structure fire in Bastien Loop on Sunday night has been ruled arson, according to the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department.

CDAFD is working with the Idaho State Fire Marshal's Office "to open the reward tip line to seek information from the public which may assist in the arrest of the person(s) responsible," according to a social media post from the agency. 

The home was under construction. Damage was estimated at $200,000, Fire Marshal Craig Etherton said.

There were no injuries.
