Fourth Street Bridge to be closed tonight
COEUR d’ALENE — The Fourth Street Bridge over Interstate 90 will be closed from 7 to midnight tonight as crews repair joints and perform maintenance on the structure, the Idaho Transportation Department said Monday.
Northbound traffic will be detoured on I-90 to 15th Street or E. Hattie Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured on I-90 to U.S. Highway 95.
"This is part of a larger project to address repairs on several bridges on or across state highways in the Panhandle," a press release said.
All work is expected to be completed by early November. Work on individual bridges will last anywhere between two to six days. Multiple crews will be working simultaneously to complete the work as quickly as possible, ITD said.
ITD provided a tentative outline of the locations:
SH-200 over the railroad tracks in Ponderay
I-90 over the South Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River near Wallace
I-90 over Copper Street in Mullan
US-95 over SH-54 on both the northbound and southbound lanes
SH-97 over I-90 near Wolf Lodge
Seltice Way Bridge over I-90 in Post Falls
Idaho Road over I-90 in Post Falls
