ENDORSEMENT: Vote for levies, Marano, Prop 1, Hearn

Accounting 101 — school levies — why we must vote yes.

Some years ago, the state legislators took the school districts off property tax and added a sales tax, which sent all our money to Boise. Having a state legislature not having the brains or wherewithal to get our money back, Boise keeps our money and we get levies.

This is why a vote for Paula Marano is important. She’s a real lady and knows what needs to be done.

Prop 1 — why a yes vote is important: I did vote for a closed primary some 10 years ago. The idea was good. However, it backfired. It opened the door for California fascists to take over the Kootenai County Republican Party. That’s a fact. We need to open primaries again to get a normalcy back in Idaho.

To all the good people in Shoshone County: You voted in Phil Hart. My old friend Tom Hearn is running against him on a Democratic ticket. We don’t agree on everything, but first and foremost he’s a quality, family man. We’ve been friends for 20 years. You guys want jobs and good schools, you want Tom Hearn. You guys have a special place in the world and it needs to be protected. Don’t let it turn into Kootenai County. I don’t recognize my hometown. It’s become a horrible place to live. Watching the kids’ futures only being slaves to the rich stinks.
