Fall celebration, cleanup Sunday at Shared Harvest Community Garden

| October 16, 2024 1:06 AM

COEUR d'ALENE — Everyone is invited to a celebration of fall from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in the Shared Harvest Community Garden.

Live music, hot dogs and cider will be provided as community members pitch in to clean up the garden for the season. Guests are encouraged to bring potluck dishes.

At 1004 E. Foster Ave. in the Garden District of downtown Coeur d’Alene, Shared Harvest is operated by volunteers for the benefit of the community. Its gardeners grow and share fresh organic produce to help fight local food scarcity. The garden also provides habitats for bees and birds.

Several new picnic tables constructed through Boy Scout Troop 202 Eagle Scout projects will provide more seating for those visiting the grassy picnic area.

Visitors are welcome to tour the garden as they meet friends, do some light gardening, raking, weeding and composting, share food and music and celebrate the community and the season.
