Wilson, a freshman, eagled the par-5, 432-yard 18th hole at Highland Golf Course in Pocatello on the first hole of a playoff to win the state 6A girls individual title on Saturday, the program’s first individual champion. “Ella possesses a growth mindset, which any top athlete must possess,” Coeur d’Alene girls golf coach Jeff Lake said. “She is constantly working to better herself and her team on and off the golf course. She is a leader both through her voice and her actions, and she is just a freshman.”
