KELLOGG VOLLEYBALL  

Oct. 8 

Kellogg d. Bonners Ferry 

KELLOGG — Senior Ragen Oertli had 12 assists and two aces for the Wildcats in a 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 26-24 nonleague win over the Badgers at Andrews Gymnasium. 

Junior Dani Henrikson had eight kills, sophomore Paige Yrjana eight kills, sophomore Dakota Hoch two aces, senior Aubree Groth five blocks and sophomore Jordyn Stutzke 24 digs for Kellogg. 


Oct. 10 

Kellogg d. Grangeville 

KELLOGG — Freshman Ella Yrjana had 18 assists and six aces for the Wildcats, who clinched the Central Idaho League title with a 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23 win over the Bulldogs at Andrews Gymnasium. 

Sophomore Jordyn Stutzke had 30 digs, junior Dani Henrikson 11 kills and two blocks for Kellogg (17-7, 7-1 CIL). Freshmen Callie Clark, Hadley Bush and senior Aubree Groth had two blocks for Kellogg. 

“Our front row (Clark, Bush, Henrikson, Groth) did a good job for us tonight and Jordyn was huge in the back row with a lot of diving plays,” Kellogg coach Stephanie Batchelder said. “Ella ran a really good offense tonight and found the right players all night.” 

The win guaranteed the Wildcats the rights to host the 3A District I-II Tournament this week Friday/Saturday at Andrews Gymnasium, where they will play the winner of a loser-out match between fourth-seeded Priest River and fifth-seeded St. Maries. The loser-out match is at 12 p.m. on Friday.  


WALLACE VOLLEYBALL  

Oct. 8 

Wallace d. Lakeside 

WALLACE — Bethany Phillips had 19 kills and three blocks, Kayla Hasz seven kills and two blocks for the Miners in a 25-21, 25-27, 25-14, 23-25, 15-8 Scenic Idaho Conference win over the Knights at Kirby Krulitz Court. 

Kylee Phillips had 31 digs and six kills, Aubrey Birdsell 24 assists and 20 digs for Wallace. 

Tylah Lambert had 11 assists, eight aces, five digs and 10 kills for Lakeside, which competes in a tri-match with Deary and Genesee tonight. 

Kimberly Pluff added nine kills and seven digs for the Knights. Rayna Schatz had three aces, Saydee Peone 11 assists, four aces and four kills, Laila Charley six digs and five kills, Allisue Hendrickx five digs. 


Oct. 9 

Wallace d. St. Regis 

ST. REGIS, Mont. — Kylee Phillips had 21 digs, five aces and four kills for the Miners in a 25-14, 25-17, 25-23 win over the Tigers. 

Bethany Phillips had nine kills and one block and Kayden Stutzke 17 assists and four aces for Wallace (12-7), which opens the 2A District 1 tournament at Lakeside tonight at 6 p.m. 


MULLAN VOLLEYBALL  

Oct. 8 

Coeur du Christ d. Mullan 

MULLAN — Junior Maddie Junkin had 11 aces and five blocks as the visiting Saints, in their first season as a full member of the Idaho High School Activities Association, wrapped up a perfect North Star League season with a 25-14, 23-25, 25-13, 25-20 victory over the Tigers at the Mullan Pavilion. 

Josie Zepeda and Lucy Ross each had eight kills for Coeur du Christ. 

“We had a number of girls out sick again, so I am very proud of how our girls really came together and fought in this game,” Coeur du Christ coach Natalie Kiefer said. “We saw some exceptional serving from Madeline.” 


Oct. 10 

Mullan d. Wallace JV 

MULLAN — Avah Blankenship had six blocks for the Tigers in a 25-10, 25-13, 15-25, 25-22 win over the Miners JV at the Mullan Pavilion. 

Mullan (2-8) faces Kootenai in a 1A District 1 tournament semifinal match on Oct. 22 at North Idaho College. 


WALLACE FOOTBALL  

Oct. 11 

Wallace 40, Clark Fork 6 

SILVERTON — Senior Julian Davis had eight catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns for the Miners in a North Star League win over the Wampus Cats at Sather Field. 

The game was called at halftime after injuries resulted in the visiting Wampus Cats being down to six players. The teams finished the first half playing 7-on-7 until another player was injured. 

Freshman quarterback Cooper Miller had six carries for 120 yards and a touchdown and junior Alex Grubbs 10 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown for Wallace (6-1, 3-1 NSL), which hosts Coeur du Christ next Friday. 

Clark Fork (0-5, 0-4) faces Lakeside at the Marimn Health Coeur Center in Worley next Friday. 


KELLOGG FOOTBALL  

Oct. 12 

Kellogg 36, New Plymouth 34 

COTTONWOOD –– Wildcat senior Wyatt Storey returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to seal the win for Kellogg at Prairie High School.  

Both teams traded scores during the first half, but the Wildcats held a 22-20 lead at halftime and scored on the opening drive of the third quarter.  

New Plymouth scored late in the fourth quarter to pull within two, but Storey recovered the Pilgrims’ onside kick attempt with 17 seconds left in the game.  

Sophomore quarterback Porter Lewis threw for more than 350 yards in the win, linking up with receivers Storey, Radley McDonald, Coleman Blalack, Ty Cheney, and Draedan Taylor several times throughout the game. McDonald caught four passes for 98 yards during the game, including one for a 36-yard touchdown. He also hauled in three two-point conversion passes.  

Junior runningback Andrew Lewis rumbled for over 100 yards and a score in the win.  

The Wildcats (3-4, 2-0 CIL) host Grangeville this Friday at Teeters Field.  


ST. REGIS-MULLAN FOOTBALL  

Oct. 11 

St. Regis-Mullan 42, Darby 28 

ST. REGIS –– The host Tigers moved into fourth place in the 11-team Montana 8-Man Western Division with their win over the visiting Tigers.  

St. Regis-Mullan (4-2) will travel to Plains this week for another divisional tilt.  


KELLOGG CROSS COUNTRY 

Oct. 12 

LEWISTON — Priest River senior Brayden Lamanna was the top local finisher, taking third in the Inland Empire Championship at the Lewis-Clark State Course in Lewiston Orchards. 

Lamanna finished in 15 minutes, 42 seconds. Bishop Kelly senior Jack Tobin won in 15:21, leading the Knights of Boise to the team title. 

Kellogg senior Ryken White was 20th in 17:05. 

Bonners Ferry senior Sydney Beckle was 10th in 20:18 in the girls race. 

Bishop Kelly senior Zoey Stauffer was the girls champion in 18:48. 

Enterprise (Ore.), won the girls team title.
