Dustin Sky Franks, 45, of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away peacefully Oct. 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 31, 1979, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Dustin graduated from Post Falls High School in 1998 and went on to earn an electrical engineering degree from IIT Technical Institute. At the time of his passing, he was employed by the TSA at Harry Reid International Airport, having held various positions throughout his life, including roles at Invictus International Security, Team Acme, Inc., Coeur d'Alene "Napa'' Auto Parts, Nilfisk, Hi-Rel Laboratories and Outback Steakhouse. Dustin was truly one of a kind — old school in the best sense. He had a strong work ethic, loved with his whole heart and was known for his kindness and generosity. Those who had the privilege of knowing him considered themselves fortunate. His wife, three sons, family and beloved dogs were his world. Dustin had a passion for building and repairing things. From skateboard half pipes to guitars, arcade games, a vintage camper, a motorcycle and his latest project, a 1948 Cadillac Fleetwood, no project was too big. He loved heavy metal rock music, tattoos, snowboarding, skateboarding, riding his Harley and spending time with family and friends.

He married Stephanie Robley on Oct. 30, 2011, and together they created a beautiful life. Dustin is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his three sons, Tristan, Tyler and Troy of Las Vegas; his mother, Leah, and stepfather Wes McClain of Coolin; his father, Greg Franks, of Boise; his brother, Jeremy Franks, of Colorado Springs; his sister, Lindsey (Casey) Dragon, of Post Falls; his stepsister, Melissa (Chris) Jeffreys, of Post Falls; mother-in-law Penny (Jeff) Marsell; sister-in-law Krista (David) Blaze of Las Vegas; father-in-law Chris (Shawna) Robley of Medford; and step-grandfather David Deitz of Coeur d’Alene. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dustin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Gayle Sims-Deitz; grandfather Larry Sims; and great-grandparents.

A celebration of Dustin’s life will be held at a later date.

In honor of Dustin, please remember to embrace each moment with love and kindness and just breathe!
