Mineral County deputies search for shooting suspect

Law enforcement in Mineral County, Montana are searching for a suspect allegedly involved in a shooting in Saltese on Sunday.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in Saltese on Sunday, Oct. 13. The community is on I-90 just east of the Idaho and Montana border.
The suspect, Willie Joe Richardson, had not been apprehended as of Monday morning, according to the Mineral County Sheriff's Office.
Richardson allegedly fled the scene in a black 2023 Kia Forte with Washington plates, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies later located the vehicle on Silver Creek Road south of Saltese.
Residents were advised to report any suspicious activity and to keep their doors locked while officials pursued the suspect.
Local, state and federal resources were called to assist in the search.
