Plans move forward for Guy Road lift station abandonment project

POST FALLS — Post Falls is removing the Guy Road lift station from the city sewer system.

The lift station will be abandoned after construction in summer 2025 and the current line will be connected to the Fisher lift station instead.

The design portion of the project is expected to cost $475,000 from the management reserve and the build will use money from the Fisher Lift Station budget after construction bids are collected in the spring.

The project also includes an extension of the Prairie gravity sewer line.

Post Falls Public Works Project Manager Jaxon Fleshman told city council at the last meeting that the 2019 collections system master plan identified improvements to the Guy Road lift station and a plan to accommodate future flows.

A study of Prairie and Idaho sewer two years later identified phased improvements with Fisher Sewer Basin in the next five to 10 years.

The city has a contract with Welsh Comer for the project design to ensure that the sewer line that currently leads into Guy Road would lead into the Fisher lift station.

The plan was unanimously adopted by city council.
