Post Falls residents complain of sewage smell
A few residents at the Post Falls Planning and Zoning Commission meeting Tuesday night had concerns about a sewage smell emanating from their neighborhood.
Two residents in the area around West Echo Drive and West Lundy Boulevard spoke of a prolific “sewer smell” wafting through the air.
“I can’t even go out at night because of the stench of raw sewage,” Wayne Plante said.
Plante said during his time at the Spokane sewer plant, he learned there are chemicals to negate persistent strong smells. He asked if the city would look into using them.
Utilities manager Craig Borrenpohl said there haven't been any changes in the treatment system or service area. The department is following up with residents to learn more about the origins of the smell.
