The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County plans online guide

| October 10, 2024 1:00 AM

The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County is asking all local candidates for the Nov. 5 election to participate in www.Vote411.org, a free, nonpartisan, online voter guide "providing voters with the reliable, unbiased candidate information they need," according to a press release.

Created by the national League of Women Voters in 2006, www.Vote411.org has provided tens of millions of voters with information about the election process and information directly from the candidates themselves regarding their vision for their community's and America’s future, the release said.

The responses and contact information that candidates provide (campaign website and email addresses, picture and responses to questions) will be available to voters 24/7 through LWVKC’s free voter guide (www.Vote411.org) which is “LIVE” now. Candidates should contact LWVKC volunteer BeckyHarro@gmail.com for assistance in completing their information.

In this election, voters will see races for U.S. and state of Idaho House representatives and senators, as well as local races for county commissioner, NIC board of trustees, prosecuting attorney, county sheriff, and Kootenai-Shoshone Soil & Water Conservation District supervisors. On the ballot will be Proposition 1: Open primaries and ranked-choice voting, three school levies and three fire district levies.

"Voters deserve to hear from all candidates running for office in their community and should encourage candidates to participate in the LWVKC www.Vote411.org project, by contacting them directly," the release said.
