Honeysuckle beach, boat launch to close for Hayden Lake Marathon

HAYDEN LAKE — Honeysuckle Beach and the boat launch will be closed starting Friday at 5 p.m. until about 3 p.m. Saturday for the Hayden Lake Marathon on Saturday morning. Access will be limited and unauthorized vehicles will be towed.
No city roads will be closed for the marathon, according to the event website. The northbound lane of Smith Road will be used for event parking, and flaggers will direct traffic at the Honeysuckle Avenue and Strahorn Road intersection.
Several hundred runners are expected to compete in either a full 26.2-mile marathon, a half marathon, a quarter marathon and a 5K.
