TRUMP: Two choices for Republicans

| October 9, 2024 1:00 AM

Over the last few weeks, it has become clear that the rhetoric and the overt deception of the Trump campaign is accelerating as election day approaches.

The outrageous, baseless claims made by Trump and those in his camp, communicating through social media and rallies, have progressed from mere exaggerations to full-on misdirection to the point of total absurdity.

The comments made that Haitians are eating people’s pets in Springfield, Ohio, that FEMA is withholding funds for hurricane victims, that there won’t be another election if Harris is elected (same that was said when Obama won), the continuing message that political opponents should be incarcerated, that this election will be “rigged,” that crime is “spiraling out of control,” (it isn’t), and that Harris is a “Marxist.” (He has no idea.)

Trump’s repeated claim that America is being destroyed, that the country has gone to hell, that America is “failing” are abject lies. It is in fact economically stronger than it has ever been.

Harris and Trump aren’t the two choices this letter refers to, but instead what Republicans are thinking.

One of two things must be true: that they believe everything Trump says, despite all evidence to the contrary, or that they simply refuse to care whether he is misinforming or not. If they can watch Trump speak, and NOT acknowledge there is something seriously wrong with this man’s mentality, it speaks volumes about their grip on reality and their concept of right and wrong.
