Post Falls officers push vehicle to safety

POST FALLS — Officers responding to an emergency call Sept. 29 put their backs to create a solution after a car was left stranded in a Post Falls roadway.

Post Falls police Capt. Mark Brantl said that when a vehicle broke down at the intersection of Seltice Way and Idaho Street, officers Cody Duce and Daniel Sanicola pushed the vehicle out of the intersection and into a safe parking lot until the driver’s tow truck arrived.

The department encourages officers to think of people in need of assistance during 911 calls like they were their own relatives and respond accordingly.

“This is an example of types of unnoticed situations that our officers respond to on a daily basis and do their best for the public we serve, Brantl said.

In the past, Brantl recounted that the department has also been observed performing other little-known good deeds such as purchasing shoes for a person without a home and assisting elderly residents with bringing in wood in the winter and shoveling driveways.
