One dead following fatal crash on SH 58 near Idaho/Washington border

A Deer Park man has died following a single vehicle crash on State Highway 58 near the Idaho/Washington state line on Monday, according to Idaho State Police. 

At approximately 2:59 p.m. Monday afternoon, ISP and Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police responded to a 2022 Kenworth that had left the roadway and overturned. 

The driver, a 37-year-old man, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Kootenai Health via LifeFlight but was pronounced dead around the time of arrival to Kootenai Health. The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to ISP. 

The driver's next of kin has been notified.

The road was closed for approximately five and a half hours while emergency responders processed the scene. The crash remains under investigation by ISP.
