Lynann (Lyn) Marion Harris, 60

| October 8, 2024 1:00 AM

Lynann (Lyn) Marion Harris left this life unexpectedly Sept. 28, 2024. She was born Oct. 9, 1963, in McCall, Idaho.

Ellis and Gladys (Morrison) Vawter raised the little spitfire in St. Maries, Idaho, where she graduated from high school in 1981. Not long after, Lyn moved to Post Falls, Idaho, where she never left. It was there that she met her lifelong partner, Eric Harris. They were married Dec. 27, 1987. From that day forward, Lyn proudly called herself Mrs. Eric Harris. Although they never had children, they always had their pets, who were often rescue animals. Lyn would give each of them a unique, special name and shower them with love. The two enjoyed camping in the summer at different places in north Idaho and occasional trips to the Oregon Coast. They both enjoyed NASCAR, and she had strong allegiances she wasn’t afraid to defend. She also enjoyed watching Eric race at Stateline Speedway for many years. Lyn worked at various restaurants and quick stops until her health deteriorated and she was forced to stay home.

Lyn is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Eric Harris; her parents, Ellis and Gladys Vawter; her brother, Les (Dana) Vawter; several nieces and nephews; biological mother Irene Bitton and siblings Jeffrey (Tommi) Halverson, Kris Cruz and Staci (Billy) Sturgeon — also, her best friend and confidant of 56 years, Lois Witten. Lyn is preceded in death by her biological father, Gary Bitton, and some of her many pets.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Post Falls, Idaho. You can visit her online tribute at belltowerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local pet shelter or veterans' charity is appreciated.
