| October 4, 2024 1:00 AM

The Coeur d'Alene Public Library will host an author talk with Tara Kerr Roberts at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Roberts will discuss her debut novel “Wild and Distant Seas." Inspired by "Moby-Dick," the magic-infused story follows four generations of women as they seek to chart their own futures. Roberts is a freelance writer, science writer and newspaper columnist. She is a lifelong Idahoan who grew up along the Pend Oreille River and now lives in Moscow with her family.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A no-host bar will be provided by Bakery by the Lake. Unique items will be raffled off at the end of the event. The Well-Read Moose will be in attendance to sell copies of Roberts' books.

Tickets are $25.
