Author Kathy Banak to host book signing Oct. 20

Coeur d'Alene resident Kathy Banak, author of "5 Easy Steps to Create Your Own Authentic Home,” will host a book signing at 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at Barnes and Noble, 15310 E. Indiana Ave. in the Market Point I Shopping Center in Spokane Valley.

Banak, a designer and color consultant, released her debut book in June.

The book discusses five steps to transform living spaces, beginning with discovering the soul of one's home and decluttering to make way for a new way of living. She also discusses how to establish a strong foundation of color, which serves as a launchpad for understanding transformative elements such as interior furnishings, window coverings, lighting and the house's exterior.
