Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony this weekend
KELLOGG — In the Silver Valley, the holiday season doesn’t truly kick off until Silver Mountain’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
On Saturday evening, the longtime Kellogg tradition will continue.
This year, the event will include a vendor fair in Silver Mountain’s Gondola Village, giving people an opportunity to find those special and unique gifts.
Free cookies and hot cocoa will be provided, courtesy of Grocery Outlet, the event’s main sponsor. But the real fun really kicks off when the big guy arrives.
Each year, Santa Claus lights the tree before making his way to Silver Mountain’s outdoor fireplace to take photos with kids and listen to their Christmas wishes.
"The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is one of my favorite events here at Silver,” said event planner Gus Colburn. “It's always great holiday vibes being in the presence of Santa Claus. We love kicking off the Christmas season with this event.”
The outdoor part of the ceremony wraps up with a fireworks show that will light up the winter skies over the resort base.
Directly after the Tree Lighting Ceremony ends, Silver Mountain will host the premier of the newest Warren Miller ski film, "75," in Noah's Loft. Stacked with action, the film will bring fans to powder stashes and chutes around the world, from Canada, Colorado and more.
Silver Mountain's annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is Saturday with the vendor fair beginning at 5 p.m., followed by Santa Claus at 5:30. The fireworks show begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are required for the Warren Miller film and are limited to the first 120 people. Tickets can be purchased at www.silvermt.com.
