Katherine Zehm, 100

Katherine H. Zehm, 100, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died Nov. 14, 2024, at Brookdale Assisted Living, where she resided for the past eight years.

She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Auburn, Wash., to Edward and Katherine Schinzel. At the age of 5, the family moved to the Worley, Idaho, area. Katherine attended school through the 11th grade. She married Edgar Zehm on Sept. 26, 1941. She and her husband worked on their farm in Worley until 1987 when they retired to Coeur d’Alene.

Katherine is survived by a daughter, Linda (Doug) Janson, of Dalton Gardens and a son, Robert (Linda) Zehm, of Tekoa, Wash. Katherine enjoyed seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Kenneth Zehm in 2016 and two sisters, Ida Johnston and Marianne Bond.

A private family service was held Nov. 23, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the outstanding care of our mom.
