Shaw, a sophomore, won his second straight state title in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing the state 6A race in 52.15 seconds at the West Ada YMCA in Boise on Nov. 9. "I think he really stepped up to the challenge," Lake City coach Shelly Sobek said. "He won last year, and swam really well all weekend. After his relay races, he set himself up for success and got himself ready to go. He did a good job of taking things one race at a time, and was more mentally prepared and in the moment in the butterfly."
