“We made a lot of strides this weekend defensively,” NIC coach Nathan Covill said. “We were locked in and didn’t try to force things today. We were able to get some deflections and get some opportunities and had some steals from the backside of our defense. We need to get better at rebounding, but I’m proud of how the kids played today They got after it.”
Freshman Summer Faleafa had 17 points and freshman Esmeralda Galindo scored 16 poiints for NIC (3-3), which faces Casper on Friday in the Casper (Wyo.) Thanksgiving Classic on Friday. NIC beat Casper 67-63 on Thursday at Rolly Williams Court.
