Idaho State Police seek witnesses after fatal crash

Idaho State Police are seeking witnesses of a crash that killed a 56-year-old Coeur d’Alene man Tuesday night. 

Around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 75-year-old man from Cocolalla was traveling northbound on SH 41 when he failed to stop for a red light at the W. Prairie Avenue intersection, according to police. His vehicle hit a Toyota Prius driven by a Coeur d’Alene man who was traveling west on Prairie Avenue. 

The driver of the Prius later died from his injuries. 

Police ask that anyone who was in the area between 6:30 and 7 p.m. who witnessed the crash, anyone with information about the crash or anyone with dashcam footage of the intersection during or shortly before the crash come forward.
