THANKS: Food drive a success
The Post Falls Lions would like to thank Yoke's Fresh Market for allowing us to hold a food drive at their store on Seltice Way on Saturday, Oct. 19. Post Falls Lions would also like to thank the people of Post Falls and Kootenai County who were so generous with their donations in both food and cash as we were able to donate to the 3rd Avenue Marketplace (food bank) in Post Falls 753 pounds of food and $400 in cash donations received. This will provide enough food to 52 families of four for one month alone. You can also donate directly to the 3rd Avenue Marketplace during the week as they need our support year-round. Thank you for your generosity Post Falls and Kootenai County.

THANKS: Growing the STEM raises over $17K
Growing the STEM recently hosted its annual Teacher Trivia Night fundraiser, where 13 teams from 11 local schools joined forces in friendly competition. The evening was filled with fun, community spirit, and an incredible celebration of our local educators. With the generous support of our community, we successfully raised over $17,000, which will fund teacher stipends and program supplies, ensuring the continued success of our STEM initiatives in Coeur d’Alene schools.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors that helped make trivia night successful. Special recognition goes to our presenting sponsor, Capone’s for hosting and providing food to our teachers. Additional thanks to our round sponsors Northwest Speciality Hospital, STCU, Wellness Bar, Idaho Central Credit Union, Lyons O’Dowd, Meltzer Medical Group, Swire Coca-Cola, Avista Foundation, Mountain West Bank, ACE Solutions, Architects West, Ednetics, Inc., Hayden Cinema, Parkwood Properties, RC Worst, Strata Engineering, TML Construction, Via Global, Welch Comer Engineers, CdA Tractor, JUB Engineers, Northwest Groundwater Consultants, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine and DCI Engineers.
Founded by local youth in 2017, Growing the STEM provides free math, engineering and science programs for students in Coeur d’Alene public schools. Growing the STEM encourages underrepresented groups in our community to pursue STEM education through its programs. The organization also emphasizes developing youth leaders who coach our programs. Funds raised for trivia night go toward supporting teacher stipends to oversee our STEM programs as well as paying for program supplies. Thank you to our generous sponsors!
