COEUR d’ALENE — A man accused of choking and threatening to kill a woman is in jail on $100,000 bail.

Sean D. Freeze, 44, of Post Falls, is charged with attempted strangulation, a felony, and domestic battery in the presence of a child, a misdemeanor.

The charges stem from Nov. 8, when Post Falls police responded to a report that Freeze had attacked a woman.

The woman told police that Freeze had put her in a choke hold and, while attempting to strangle her, repeatedly threatened to kill her. Police observed a red mark on the woman’s collarbone and scrapes on her knee. Her voice was hoarse, “which is indicative of strangulation,” according to court records.

After a Kootenai County judge issued a $100,000 warrant for Freeze’s arrest, he was taken into custody Sunday night in Airway Heights, Wash. He was transported to the Kootenai County jail Thursday.

Freeze is also facing felony charges in two unrelated cases. He was charged in July with two counts of grand theft and with malicious injury to property in September.
