Two teenagers were arrested and booked into the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center in connection to a recent string of auto burglaries in Coeur d'Alene.

According to a press release Friday, Coeur d'Alene police received six reports of auto burglaries in the area of North Courcelles Parkway and West Hanley Avenue between Nov. 11-14. Property taken included several handguns.

By collecting surveillance videos from the surrounding area and working with the public, detectives identified two juvenile males as the suspects, the release said.

A 16-year-old was interviewed and arrested Thursday "after he admitted to his involvement and indicated he and other individuals were responsible for additional burglaries that have not been reported," the release said.

Detectives arrested a 17-year-old male Friday.

Some of the recovered stolen property, including a handgun, is from auto burglaries that have not been reported, the release said.

Anyone who was a victim of an auto burglary from Nov. 11-14 should contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at 208-769-2320.
