Vigil to honor University of Idaho students two years after murders
MOSCOW — The University of Idaho community will gather tonight to honor the lives of Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogan, and Xana Kernodle, who were killed in an off-campus home two years ago.
The vigil is set for tonight at 6 p.m. at the Vandal Healing Garden on the U of I campus. The vigil will include sharing memories and writing notes as way to honor the lives lost.
"It's hard to believe that two years have passed since we lost four amazing Vandals, Xana, Ethan, Maddie, and Kaylee," the Student Union said in an Instagram post.
Bryan Kohberger, the man prosecutors allege killed the four students on Nov. 13, 2022, faces four counts of murder and could receive the death penalty under Idaho law if convicted. His trial is set to begin in August of next year.
