A Spokane man was sentenced to prison for a grand theft conviction Tuesday in First District Court.

According to a press release from the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office, James Bruce Dillon, 56, stole two "very expensive bicycles" in Post Falls last summer.

After one of the victims found their bicycle for sale on Craigslist, detectives responded to the advertisement where they met and arrested Dillon, the release said.

"Dillon initially denied stealing the bicycle and only admitted to the crime after being confronted with video footage of him stealing the bicycle," the release said. "Dillon also admitted to stealing and selling the second bicycle."

Dillon has a lengthy criminal history in other states that stretches back decades, including convictions for burglary, trafficking stolen property, forgery and possession of methamphetamine, the release said.

District Judge Ross Pittman sent Dillon to prison for six years with parole eligibility after two and a half years.
