Sherrie Lynn Mayer, 77

Sherrie Lynn Mayer, 77, of Hayden, passed away Oct. 23, 2024. Sherrie was born to Walter and Marie Fischbach in Spokane, Wash., on April 6, 1947. 

She graduated from West Valley High School in 1965 and started administrative duties for Washington State University, Pullman, Wash., shortly after graduation. In 1978, she began working for the Idaho Department of Lands, Cavanaugh Bay, Priest Lake and retired from the department in 2009. For 20 years, she worked as part of the administrative staff of an all-incident management team; in those 20 years, she served on 70-plus project wildfires and two hurricane recoveries. 

Sherrie loved her garden, numerous pets and travels to Mexico over the years. She married Carl Ritchie on Jan. 30, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nev. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.  

She is survived by her husband, Carl Ritchie; her son, Jade Mayer; and two daughters, Tammy Davis and Terra Glaspey.
